Cavalry and Guards Club

Don't forget to check out even more pictures from the Slideshow at the bottom of the page.

Natalie and Chris asked me to provide their Kensington Palace wedding photography at the start of the year, and it's fair to say that I've been looking forward to photographing this wedding all year. As an editorial photographer, I have photographed at the Palace before, so I knew how spectacular the buildings and grounds were. And I knew that they both placed a high value on documentary wedding photography, letting me tell the story of their wedding day without posing or staging pictures.

My coverage started with Natalie's preparations at the Cavalry and Guards Club, a short distance from Kensington Palace. It was a fitting start to the day, with Chris being a Captain in the British Army. With one eye on the threatening rain, I enjoyed photographing Natalie with her Mum and bridesmaids - there was some great light and moments to capture there before I headed over to St Mary Abbot's Church in Kensington.

High Street Kensington Church Ceremony

It's a beautiful church, in the heart of Kensington, and full of opportunity for great story telling photography! Having room to move around in such a large church lets me find great angles and wait for moments to happen. After the ceremony, Natalie and Chris walked under the Guard of Honour, leading the guests on a  short walk through Kensington Park, over to the Palace for the drinks reception.

Kensington Palace Orangery

I knew the approaching rain wasn't far away, but there was enough time for the guests to enjoy some of the stunning gardens before heading into the Orangery for the wedding breakfast. We managed to get some portraits in the Palace at the Kings Grand Stairway, before heading back for the First Dance and the start of a great party.

I've selected a small number of images below, that tell the story of the day, and there's even more pictures from Natalie and Chris' wedding in the slideshow at the bottom of the page.
